Vanessa Carlton's New Chapter with "Animal"
Vanessa Carlton is stepping into a fresh phase of her career, delighting fans with the release of her new single "Animal," along with its music video. This track offers a glimpse into her forthcoming album, 'Veils', set to debut in spring 2026 and produced by the renowned Dave Fridmann. The music video, crafted by Interiorstate, visually complements the song's deep introspective themes. Carlton has also recently made her mark in film by scoring the soundtrack for 'Wish You Were Here,' a project she collaborated on with her husband, John McCauley, and director Julia Stiles.
The single explores significant themes of acceptance and inner turmoil, with Carlton describing "Animal" as a reflection on stoicism and the struggle between being a hunter and being hunted. As she continues to redefine her artistic identity, from her Broadway role as Carole King to her iconic hit "A Thousand Miles," Carlton is gearing up for a U.S. tour in 2026, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting the Save The Music Foundation.
